Legal Analysis:     [top]

Legal analysis contributes for effective implementation of any law and to explore theoretical / jurisprudential basis of that statute. This section is designed to make resources analyzing Nepali laws on right to information available. Similarly, it includes analysis of international standards and international legal provisions.

Document 1

RTI Legislation of other countries:     [top]

Large number of countries has made provision for people's access to official documents held by public bodies of the state. The number of countries adopting national legislation on right to information has increased rapidly after 1990.

After going through national legislations of different countries providing right to access public or official documents, some of the national legislations have been selected. In some countries such legal mechanism has worked as a milestone for the development, promotion and protection of right to information and in some countries effective implementation is still a process.

We are hopeful that this section can be useful for comparative study of right to information law for researchers and academics.
